Released in 1979 by Philco-Ford, the Telejogo II was one of the first consoles manufactured in Brazil, following the original Telejogo from 1977. The console introduced significant improvements over its predecessor, including a more modern design, built-in controllers, and a wider variety of games.
Unlike the first model, which had fixed controllers on the console, the Telejogo II introduced wired controllers, offering greater flexibility for players. The device came with 10 built-in game variations, such as Tennis, Soccer, and Wall, providing more entertainment options.
With a design similar to Pong-style consoles, the Telejogo II used integrated circuit technology, improving graphics performance and gameplay. It connected directly to the TV and was operated via rotary potentiometers on the controllers, ensuring an accessible and intuitive experience.
Although it was one of the last consoles of this generation before the rise of cartridge-based video games, the Telejogo II left its mark on Brazil’s gaming history and is still fondly remembered by many collectors.
